ome individuals are born teachers and do not need much training for learning skills of teaching. Their sincerity paves the path for self-learning and some times, such self-made teachers have been found more effective than formally trained teachers. However, in case of majority, teacher learning is facilitated by training programmes delivered before entry into teaching profession and also while continuing in teaching profession. They need appropriate knowledge and skills, personal characteristics, professional prospects and motivation if they are to meet the expectations placed on them (Delors 1996, p.142). भारत वर्ष ग्रामों में बसता है । देश की अधिकांश जनता ग्रामीण अंचल में निवास करती है। ग्रामीण लोक-समाज जिन शब्दों में अपने हृदय के उद्गार प्रकट करता है और साधारण जनता जिन शब्दों में अपने हृदय के उद्गार प्रकट करता है और साधारण जनता जिन शब्दों में गाती-रोती है, हँसती-खेलती है - उन सभी को लोक साहित्य में परिगणित किया जा सकता है ।
लोक साहित्य के विषय में विद्वानों के विचारों में मतभेद है । वास्तव में लोक-साहित्य लोक की ही सम्पत्ति कहा जा सकता है । विद्वानों का एक वर्ग मानता है कि - ‘लोक साहित्य की रचना स्वयमेव होती है । दूसरे वर्ग का मानना है कि ‘जाति के समस्त व्यक्ति मिलकर इसकी रचना करते है । मौखिक धरोहर के रूप में पीढ़ी-दर-पीढ़ी चला आ रहा लोक-साहित्य अनेक कंठों द्वारा सजता-संवरता रहा है । सभ्यता और संस्कृतियों के उत्थान-पतन की कहानी समेटता लोक-साहित्य अपनी स्वाभाविक गति से आगे बढ़ता रहा है । साहित्य का उत्थान और पतन हुआ लेकिन लोक-साहित्य का झरना अजस्त्र प्रवाहित होता रहा । यह परम्परा से प्राप्त खजाना दिनों दिन बढ़ता गया । किसी भी लोक का साहित्य जीवन के धार्मिक, आर्थिक, समाजिक पहलुओं से घनिष्
