VALUE ORIENTATION OF WORKING AND NON-WORKING WOMEN IN RELATION TO FRUSTRATION TOLERANCE

The present study was undertaken to investigate the value orientation of working and non-working women in relation to frustration tolerance. The sample comprised of 200 randomly selected working and non-working women (100 each), from the city of Chandigarh. The tools employed for the study were Value Orientation Scale (1997) by Dr. N. S. Chauhan & Dr. S. Aurora and Frustration Tolerance (FRTO) Scale (1989) by S. N. Rai. The analysis of the data revealed that there is a significant difference in the value orientation of working and non-working women in relation to frustration tolerance.

The present study was carried out to investigate the teaching effectiveness of teacher educators in relation to gender and professional commitment. Survey technique under Descriptive research method was used in this study. A representative sample of 269 teacher educators from 27 B.Ed. colleges of Himachal Pradesh was collected by employing Incidental sampling technique. Data were collected with the help of Teaching Effectiveness Scale by Dr. Umme Kulsum and Professional Commitment Scale by Dr. Ravinder Kaur, Dr. Sarbjit Ranu and Mrs. Sarvjeet Kaur Barar. Descriptive statistics and Statistical Technique of Analysis of variance ANOVA (Two-Way) were used to analyze the data. The results of the study indicated that male and female teacher educators do not differ significantly with respect to their teaching effectiveness. In the present investigation, an attempt has been made to study achievement motivation and self-concept among secondary school student. In the present study sample of 200 secondary school students were taken .The tool used for the present study were Self-Concept Questionnaire (Saraswati; 1999) and Achievement Motivation Scale (Deo and Mohan,2011).Further t- test was applied to determine the significant of difference between gender, types and locale and correlation was calculated to see the relationship between the achievement motivation and self-concept. It was found that boys possessed higher achievement motivation than girls. It was also revealed no significant difference in achievement motivation of government and private secondary schools students Further it was also found that private schools students had higher self concept than government secondary school students.

The present study investigates the study of techno pedagogical competency and teacher efficacy of adolescent students. The sample consisted 200 secondary school teachers were selected from four different schools of Amritsar (Punjab). In order to test, the hypothesis formulated for the present study. The scores obtained from different tests were subjected to statistical analysis and interpretation. Raw scores were tabulated and analyzed mean scores, standard deviation, standard error and correlation were used to arrive at the conclusions – (i) There is no significant difference in Techno Pedagogical Competency of male and female secondary school teachers. (ii) There is significant difference in Techno Pedagogical Competency of government and private secondary school teachers.

A study to explore the teaching effectiveness of secondary school teachers in relation to their professional commitment was conducted on 109 secondary school teachers. Data was collected using standardized scales of teacher effectiveness scale by Umme Kulsum and professional commitment by Ravinder Kaur. Results revealed that maximum teachers possess average level of teaching efficiency and commitment towards their profession. No significant difference was found in teaching effectiveness and professional commitment with respect to gender but difference was significant with respect to type of institutions. Results further revealed that teaching effectiveness at different levels was correlated to professional commitment.

Depression is one of the most pressing public health concerns affecting Indian women today. It manifests not only due to biological or psychological causes but also due to deep-rooted socio-cultural expectations, gender-based roles, and structural inequalities. In India, where family remains the cornerstone of social life, the emotional and practical support offered by family members can play a transformative role in the recovery process. This study explores the role of family support in facilitating recovery from clinical depression among Indian women aged 25–50. Using a descriptive correlational research design, data were collected from 300 women from urban and semi-urban areas of Punjab, using the Beck Depression Inventory-II (BDI-II) and the Family Support Scale (FSS).
