VALUES- THEIR IDENTIFICATION AND JUSTIFICATION
Author: Meenakshi

Abstract
"An unpleasant, combative environment at home and unresponsive, unsympathetic or ignorant
teachers who cannot act as role models, are the principal reasons for decline of values," says Luther.
Our school textbooks talk more about wars than about the lives of people with exemplary values. The
students look for role models from the contemporary world, as they can relate to them. However,
textbooks imply that such people lived only in Sat Yuga (the spiritually evolved era according to
Hinduism) or centuries ago. The media also underplays reports of exemplary people as it assumes
that good deeds are uninteresting, hence unsaleable. Cutthroat competition and the resulting higher
stress levels. Stress may affect moral reasoning capacity and the ability to use it in real-life situations.
Competitiveness exists because instead of trying to discover who we are, where our roots lie and how
we can serve others, we are trying to become what we are not. Instead of trusting that r

Author: Sushil & Priyanka Jain

Abstract

behavioral difficulties in school, delinquency, inattentiveness, peer rejection, emotional difficulties,
bullying, difficulty in making friends, aggressiveness, problems in interpersonal relationships, poor
self-concept, academic failures, concentration difficulties, isolation from peers, and depression.
Children with learning disabilities, sensory integration difficulties, Autism spectrum disorder

MULTIMEDIA APPROACH IN EDUCATION
Author: Sushil Kumar

Abstract
The traditional teacher-centric method of teaching used for decades in our educational system has
been modified and enhanced. Currently, modern education theory is moving from the traditional
recall of facts, principles, or correct procedures into the areas of creative thinking, problem solving,
analysis and evaluation. In recent years, the infusion of multimedia into teaching and learning has
altered considerably the instructional strategy in our educational institutions and changed the way
teachers teach and students learn. These are skills which are very much needed in today's knowledge
based economy. This shift in focus on learning has presented educators and academicians all around
the world with serious challenges as well as opportunities in restructuring their curriculum to meet
the rising demands of the knowledge based society. The present paper is just an attempt in this
direction to highlight the various facets of the multimedia approach in education. In th

MINDFULNESS
Author: Deepak Aggarwal

Abstract
In recent years, there has been an explosion of interest in mindfulness with widespread media
coverage, books and online resources. Mindfulness means paying attention to what’s happening in
the present moment in the mind, body and external environment, with an attitude of curiosity and
kindness. It is typically cultivated by a range of simple meditation practices, which aim to bring a
greater awareness of thinking, feeling and behavior patterns, and to develop the capacity to manage
these with greater skill and compassion. Mindfulness can be practiced to support lifestyle and
behavioral changes, decrease perceived stress, enhance quality of life, and, ultimately, improve health
and health outcomes. This is found to lead to an expansion of choice and capacity in how to meet and
respond to life’s challenges, and therefore live with greater wellbeing, mental clarity and care for
yourself and others.
